Bio
Elizabeth Peters, a high lyric coloratura soprano known for “her beautiful, clear, bell-like quality extension and rich middle voice”, has appeared on stage in opera, operetta, and musical theatre including roles in Candide (Cunégonde), Die Zauberflöte (Königin der Nacht), Iphigénie en Tauride (Diana), and Phantom (Christine). Her performance of Blanche de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites was hailed by one critic as “captivating” and stated, “I was blown away by Elizabeth Peters as ‘Blanche’ whose vocal power contributed to the growth of the character” (Utah Daily Chronicle). In Italy, she had her debut performance in Rigoletto (Gilda) with La Musica Lirica.
Peters has a passion for concert work and competition. She won CS Music District vocal competition and the NATS CAL-West Regional Classical Advanced competition. Peters world premiered the role of Andrée (Neely Bruce’s Circular 14: Apotheosis of Aristides) at The Tabernacle at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. She has also appeared as a soloist with Utah Philharmonia, Kearney Area Symphony Orchestra, and BYU-Idaho Symphony Orchestra.
Peters received her BMA-Vocal Performance from BYU-Idaho and her MA in Music from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. A native Nebraskan, she served as Music Dept. Chair and Voice Faculty at Mid-Plains Community College (2010-2017). Peters graduated from the University of Utah-School of Music with a DMA-Voice Performance.
